After the horrific shooting at the Chabad of Poway , I have been thinking a lot about being Jewish and what it means to me.
I cannot imagine being shot at while in synagogue during services. I was not brought up religious, but that does not make me any less a Jew. Yes, going to synagogue and praying is part of it, but Judaism is more than that.
To me, Judaism, is also about how you feel in your heart. It is about family and tradition. Judaism is about treating others with respect and welcoming them no matter their differences.
Judaism is about being a decent human being which is something we should all strive to be.
