Stress ,I’ve Had My Fill

Between school starting and Tropical Storm Isaac, I’ve had enough stress to last a lifetime( or at least a month). The first couple weeks of school means, new students, new teachers, and sometimes new behavior problems. Add a tropical storm into the mix and it’s a sure-fire recipe for stress.

This year I’m working with three year-olds instead of four year-olds, and with a teacher new to our school. I like the teacher I am with and we get along just fine. And the kids? Well the kids are cute, but some of their behavior is not. So we are dealing with stress-inducing situations on a daily basis.

Not only that, but we also had to deal with Tropical Storm Isaac over this past weekend. He dumped  tons of rain on us and left some areas so flooded that boats would have been a better mode of transportation than cars or buses.  He also brought with him wind and wind gusts that knocked down trees and power lines causing people to be without electricity for a day or two.

Isaac has come and gone, and it’s back to business as usual here in South Florida. Hopefully things at work will also calm down . In the meantime, if I start feeling stressed, I will take a deep breath and head to the nearest Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. After all you know what they say, ” stressed is desserts spelled backwards!”
