” I have a dream .” Spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the beginning of his historic speech on August 28th 1963 , no one could have known that 57 years later , that his dream would turn into a nightmare .

While protesting the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery , Breonna Taylor, and others who have lost their lives to hate , people are rioting on the streets all across the country and the National Guard is being called in to help.

As if this isn’t enough, it is all happening in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The loss of life due to the pandemic is staggering enough , and now more lives could be lost because of the riots.

When did we start devaluing human life? No one has the right to decide that some lives matter less because of race or religion. Every life matters and we all would do well to remember this.

It is time for us to come together as a nation. It is time to stand together as one. It is time to make Dr. King’s dream a reality.
