Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah

Despit anti-Semitism being on the rise, tonight at sundown , Jews like myself all over the world will light the first candle in our menorahs and welcome in Hanukkah , also known as The Festival of Lights.

We will eat latkes and sufganiyot ( potato pancakes & jelly donuts). We will spin the dreidel, say the Hanukkah prayer as we light the menorah and spend time with our families and friends . We will celebrate the great miracle that happened thousands of years ago when the Maccabees liberated the Temple in Syria and after they lit the menorah, instead of only having enough oil for the candles to burn for only one night, it lasted for eight nights.

We will celebrate the strength and perseverance of our people . Our heritage is rich with traditions handed down from generation to generation, traditions that must be kept alive despite the hate and ignorance in the world today.

Hanukkah is a time for celebration. Celebration of life, family, tradition, and of being Jewish. So I will say it loud, and I will say it proud :

HAPPY HANUKKAH !!! 🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🔯🔯🔯🔯🔯
