Love and kindness. During her campaign, Hillary Clinton said that was what our country needed more of . She was right. Hate for fellow Americans who look or think differently, whose families come from different cultures, hate for fellow Americans because of their religious faith, and more, has taken over. Year after year, mass shooting after mass shooting, it has become increasingly clear that we, as a nation, have lost our humanity. We need to get it back.

Whatever happened to “love thy neighbor ? ” Apparently , it has turned in to, ” hate thy neighbor at any cost. ” This cannot and must not continue. We need to come together as one, to learn from each other, and most of all, to start loving each other again.

Yes, love and kindness is what we need. Hal David got it right when he wrote these lyrics :
