There’s A Lot To Be Said For Staycations.

Staycation: when you’re on vacation but don’t go anywhere. I’m on a staycation as we speak. I work at an elementary school and it’s winter break. My best friend and her family are out of town and I’m staying at their house taking care of things along with their bird. Hence my staycation.

While not at home, I’m still in town. I’m just staying at a different place. My best friend’s house is my second home anyway, or as I like to call it, my vacation home. I get up every morning and take care of the bird, then I have the rest of the day to myself. I’ve been seeing a lot of my boyfriend, so I haven’t actually been at my friend’s house a lot. But when I am, I relax and enjoy myself.

Since I do live in South Florida, and it is warm ( 84 degrees today), I am able to go out and sit on the patio, which I’ll probably do later. When I’m inside, I enjoy all the amenities, such as a very nice television, and a keurig coffee machine. Today I went over to Publix to pick up a few groceries that I needed and later I might go over to Starbuck’s to use the gift card I got from a friend.

How could a staycation be bad? After all it’s a vacation with all the comforts of home!
