Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are magic. No two ways about it. Without this dynamic duo, Wicked and Wicked For Good just wouldn’t be then phenomena that they are. That’s not to say that the rest of the cast aren’t wonderful. They are, but it’s Cynthia and Ariana who bring that extra something . The magic.
I have seen both movies and have become a huge fan of both ladies. They compliment each other perfectly. Like two halves of a whole. They are beautiful, strong women, who put everything they have into each performance. They are kind, compassionate and giving of themselves. Their fans know this, but ther are still people out there who have nothing better to do than pick them apart.
Instead of praising Cynthia and Ariana on their work, many people have been body shaming them. Those of us not in the industry don’t know what goes into making movies like Wicked and Wicked For Good. Petite to begin with, both Cynthia and Ariana most likely put in very long hours , not to mention the physical aspects of working on films like these.
Being in the public eye, celebrities unfortunately often become fair game for all kinds of criticism. However, that does not give anyone the right to body shame the way some people are body shaming Cynthia and Ariana. No right at all.
Cynthia is 5’1″ and Ariana is 5’2″ according to Google Neither one of them was heavy before filming Wicked and Wicked For Good . I imagine anyone of us would have lost a significant amount of weight doing what they did in both movies. And rightly so.
The body shamers needs to stop . They need to really look at Cynthia and Ariana . Then maybe they’ll see what the rest of us do; two lovely ladies who brought the wonder of a beautiful friendship to us on the big screen. A friendship , that for them, became real.
In Wicked and Wicked For Good, they showed us how true friendship can overcome all obstacles. Now it’s our turn . Cynthia and Ariana gave us something magical. Let’s give them our respect.
