Recently, on Tik Tok, I have seen people commenting on videos and saying that Anne Frank was not a real person, that she was a fictional character , that she  was a composite of several girls.

To say that Anne Frank,who witnessed  and experienced horrors beyond comprehension  is not real , is to deny the Holocaust.  There have always been, and there will always be Holocaust deniers, but to say that a young girl, who along with her mother, and older sister, perished at the hands of the Nazis did not exist, is inhumane.

I am a Jewish woman. The Holocaust is part of my heritage, my history. Growing up , I learned about it at Hebrew school and at home. As an adult, I have had the privilege and honor to meet several Holocaust survivors. I have seen the tattoos on their arms and heard their stories of the unthinkable horrors they went through. I have sent to and received emails from Dita Kraus, a Holocaust survivor and contemporary of Anne Frank, living in Israel.

So don’t tell me that Anne Frank wasn’t real. She was as real as you or I. She was as real as the horrors she experienced during the Holocaust. She was real.
