Election Day 2024 has come and gone, leaving many of us stunned. Donald Trump’s first term as president was a dark time in our lives. When President Biden was elected, he brought hope to our nation. During her campaign for the presidency, Vice President Harris kept that hope afloat. Until yesterday, that is. Somehow , the unthinkable has happened, and once again, Donald Trump has been elected president of the United States

During his first term as president,  Donald Trump divided our country. He made it okay to hate. He incited violence , and his supporters did his bidding.

Once he is inaugurated, we will have another long, dark, 4 years ahead of us. The hate will only continue to get worse. Not only that, but , Donald Trump himself has said he will he a dictator starting on day one of his term. So we will be living in a fascist dictatorship .

And don’t get me started on women’s reproductive rights. Or women’s rights period. If Donald Trump has his way, women will no longer have rights of any kind. Not to mention, what will become of Medicare, Medicare, and Social Security have? I don’t think we want to know.

Though President Biden and Vice President Harris will engage in a peaceful transfer of power, the next four years will be anything but. 

What’s done is done . As we move forward from this point on,November 5th, 2024 will be forever known as  ” The Day Democracy Died.”
