Today my hubby and I were at the mall with my sister-in-law, niece, and nephew. School is starting again very soon here in South Florida, and my niece needed to get a few things.
We went into American Eagle Outifitters where my sister-in-law spotted a pair of jeans with tag that read , 000. Triple zero. I didn’t know there was even such a size. None of us did.
Who could even wear a triple zero, and , aside someone from Anorexia, why would anyone want to be that size? There’s already enough body-shaming going on in the world , and this just adds to it.
Young girls, teenagers, and even women have been taught from the beginning of time that they need to be thin to be considered beautiful. That, of course, is not true. But by selling clothes in sizes like triple 000 , that is exactly what stores are telling them . Not to mention, for girls and women with bad body images , it’s an eating disorder waiting to happen.
Clothing, like girls and women, comes in all different sizes, but triple zero should not be one of them.
