Yesterday, at his rally in Pennsylvania,  the unthinkable happened. An assassination attempt was made on the life of Former President, Donald Trump.  He was injured, but is alive. Sadly, that is not the case for one of the rally attendees. Not only that, but two other rally-goers were seriously injured.

I am not a supporter of Former President Trump, but I am a decent human being who believes that it is wrong to take a life just because you disagree with or dislike that person. Or,  for that matter,  any reason.

In the Pledge of Allegiance,  it says, ” One Nation, Indivisible”,  but in reality, it is quite the opposite.  Things like what occurred at Former President Trump’s rally happen because we are a nation divided.  Divided by hate, this not the America our forefathers knew. It is no longer the safe haven that others come to from other nations, looking to make a better life for themselves and their families. It is no longer the America I knew growing up.

In spite of this, it is my hope that it is not too late to once again become the America we used to be. A place of hope, a land of opportunity.  We must come together and again become, ” One Nation Indivisible”.
