More Pride & Less Predjudice

Prejudice against the LGBTQIA+ community is well known. As is that against Jews like myself, the Black community, differently-abled individuals, and others. Prejudice has always been around, and that needs to change.

We are all members of the same race, the Human race. Though on the outside we each appear to be different, inside we are all the same. The blood coursing through all our veins is red, and every one of us has a heart. Unfortunately for some, like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, their hearts are two sizes too small.

Imagine being so narrow-minded as to hate anyone just because they are perceived to be different. Our differences are what make the world a wonderful place. We have so much to learn from each other, but some people refuse to look past the hate in their hearts and see what is right in front of them.

When you live with hate, you miss out on so many things, including getting to know some amazing people. When you look at the world through a hate-filled haze, you miss seeing all the beauty around you.

A world filled with hate is a dark, ugly place, but a world full of love and pride is a beautiful place to live.

What we need is more pride in each other and a lot less prejudice. Then, and only then, can we hope to live in peace.
