It’s been almost a week since the tragedy in Charlottesville Virginia. Almost a week since an innocent young woman’s life was taken away because she stood up for what she believed in. Almost a week has passed, and we as a nation are still reeling from shock, anger, and disgust.

This is 2017, not 1944. Donald Trump is in power, not Adolf Hitler, although some think they are one and the same. Yet, here we are, witnessing history repeat itself.

Hate is once again on the rise, with Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists leading the way. I never thought I would see the likes of this in my lifetime. Clearly, I was wrong.

I am sickened, not only as a Jew, but as an American. How can this be happening here? And now ? If we turn a blind eye, or a deaf ear to what is happening ,  Heather Heyer’s death will have meant nothing.

Heather Heyer was just 32 years old with her whole life ahead of her. Let us show that her life and death were not in vain. Let’s stand up to the haters and keep Heather’s legacy alive. Let’s continue to do what she no longer can.

So when it comes to hate, stand strong and just say no. Oh Heil No! ,  that is.
